Start Your Journey with Excellence

The Guller Young Scholars Program is funded through the generosity of the Sidney & Bobette Guller Family Foundation, in memory of Past Supreme Prior & Foundation Director Sidney Guller, Washington University, '43.

This program recognizes newly initiated Fratres who achieve a 3.75 GPA or higher during their candidate term. These $500 grants reward the academic discipline required to balance campus life with the responsibilities of membership.

Jewish Endeavors Grants:
Strengthening Jewish Life and Heritage

The Jewish Endeavors Initiative lead gift was funded through the generosity of Fra Barry Epstein, Purdue, '58, in honor of the alumni of the Sigma Eta Chapter and in recognition of his service as a Past Foundation Director. Now these funds have expanded through the generosity of loyal fratres and friends of Sigma Alpha Mu.

Need funding for a Shabbat dinner, holiday event, or Jewish community service project? Chapters can apply for up to $500 and individuals for up to $250 per year to support Jewish programming and education on campus. Grants are awarded throughout the academic year on a first-come, first-served basis.

Chapter Educational Fund Grants:
Resources for Your Chapter’s Future

Undergraduates giving back to their community through a food bank

Chapter Educational Funds (CEFs) are restricted funds established through the generosity of fratres and friends to provide direct support for the academic success and leadership development of their home chapter’s undergraduate members.

Use your chapter’s restricted funds to fuel your success. These grants are available to support a wide range of academic and leadership initiatives, including:

  • Academic Awards: Individual scholarships or chapter-wide achievement awards.

  • Chapter House Upgrades: Improvements to study rooms, libraries, and high-speed Wi-Fi/internet infrastructure.

  • Leadership Development: Reimbursement for travel and registration for ΣAM programs like CLD, DLI, and the Leadership Conference.

  • Educational Materials: Textbooks, computers, software, and other essential tools for chapter use.

  • Campus & Community Impact: Sponsorship of events with organizations like Hillel or Chabad, guest speakers on wellness and success, and charitable gifts to 501(c)(3) organizations like the Red Cross or local food banks.

Leading the way in Campus Safety

The Jacob Kaplan Safe Campus Award was established by Jacqueline Jacobs Caster to honor her grandfather, ΣAM Founder Jacob Kaplan, and his legacy as a fierce defender of legal rights and personal safety.

This award recognizes chapters that prioritize the safety and well-being of their campus community. Funding supports programs, partnerships, and educational initiatives focused on sexual assault prevention, domestic violence awareness, and creating safe environments for all students.

  • Foundation for Fraternal Excellence:

    A strategic alliance that champions and funds cutting-edge leadership programs, campus research, and educational grants for undergraduates. This partnership brings elite training tools and industry best practices directly to your chapter.

  • Piazza Center Research Initiative:

    Through our partnership with Penn State’s Piazza Center, we drive data-driven research to better understand and enhance the Jewish fraternity and sorority experience. This initiative provides the insights needed to build safer, more inclusive, and more vibrant campus communities for every fratre.
